Mindfulness in Grief, Holding it all With Compassion

Our Mindfulness in Grief courses are supporting people around the world in learning to navigate grief with greater gentleness and compassion, while developing practical ways to cope with the many challenges grief can bring. Whether you're accessing these resources as you work through our book or attending one of our in-person courses, we hope you find them supportive and helpful. We encourage you to work through the audio tracks week by week, allowing yourself time to reflect and practise. You can also return to them whenever you need, they're here to support you throughout your grief journey.

About Lucy Livesey

Lucy Livesey is a mindfulness for loss teacher and psychiatric nurse dedicated to supporting parents experiencing baby loss. Having personally endured the grief of losing her twin brother at 15 and later her baby daughter, Ellie, Lucy turned to mindfulness and meditation as a way to process her emotions. She now shares these practices with others, offering a compassionate space for self-care.

Through Ellie’s Gift, Lucy creates self-care resources specifically designed for parents coping with loss. Her guided relaxation and meditation tracks offer gentle tools to help process emotions, reduce anxiety, and cultivate a sense of ease during the difficult journey of grief.

Week 1 -Baby Loss Body Scan Meditation

This meditation is the first audio resource in the course. It is designed to gently guide your awareness through different parts of your body, helping you begin to develop mindful awareness of your present-moment experience.

As you move through the practice, simply notice any sensations with curiosity and kindness, allowing yourself to be exactly as you are.

Week 2 -Mindfulness of Breath Meditation

This guided meditation invites you to gently focus on your breath, using it as an anchor to the present moment. As thoughts and emotions arise, simply notice them with kindness and gently return your attention to your breathing. This is the second practice we are introducing this week, take your time and know this track is always here for you to come back to.

Baby Loss - Reducing Suffering with Compassion (17 mins)

Cultivating compassion starts with ourselves. By showing ourselves compassion, we can relieve suffering on some level. Extending that compassion towards others can also bring some ease to the experience of loss. This meditation guides you through a gentle exploration of self-compassion and how to let it grow in your heart.

Baby Loss Mindful Movement - Finding the Joy Again (14 mins)

This mindful movement track was created for the baby loss community to bring awareness to the possibility of holding both joy and sadness. It is common following loss to feel disconnected from the body, a body that may feel uncertain and unsafe. This meditation supports you in gently reconnecting.
